NAC probe panel

KATHMANDU: The ministry of culture, tourism and civil aviation (MoCTCA) has formed a five-member probe panel led by joint secretary Madhav Prasad Dhakal to probe into problems faced by Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) in its international operations. A meeting, chaired by minister Prithvi Subba Gurung, asked the panel to come up with an action plan and recommendations to ensure smooth operations of NAC. The panel has been given a week’s time to submit report. — HNS

NIC’s extended service

KATHMANDU: NIC Bank is all set to commence 365 days banking service from August 11 from its Kamaladi branch. Under the extended services plan, where the bank will provide services from 11 am to 2 pm on Saturdays and other holidays, NIC Bank plans to include cash deposit/withdrawal, foreign currency exchange, travelers’ cheque encashment and issuance, account opening, cheque book/statements and LC, draft and remittance applications, states a bank press release here today. — HNS

Power project hurt

DHADING: Construction of a micro hydroelectricity project at Budhathum-5 in Dhading district has come to a halt when a landslide damaged its canal. 80 per cent work of the 32-kilowatt Manpang River Rural Micro Hydropower Project was completed, which was being built with technical support from Dhading District Energy Development Office.— RSS
