Farmers’ demand
KATHMANDU: Farmers of Duhabi in Sunsari have demanded with the Ministry of Agriculture the reinstatement of the Agriculture Service Centre in Duhabi. The centre once again reminded the secretary at the ministry on the demands that include transferring back Subedi himself who was an employee with best performance and popular with the farmers in Duhabi but was transferred from political pressure first to Syangja and now in Okhaldhunga Agriculture Development Office. Buildings and land worth tens of millions of rupees have become useless with the removal of the centre, and the transfer of the employee has made negative impact in the services, the farmers said. — RSS
Promoting dairy
DAMAULA: Chilling vats have been distributed in five dairy pocket areas collecting milk in Tanahu district. The centres getting one chilling vat each are Chintutar, Purkot, Barahi, Rishing Patan, and Dhorfirdi, the District Livestock Services Office Tanahu said. The chilling vats are worth Rs 1 million. The farmers have felt a relief after getting the chilling vat. It will be easier to collect milk and sell in Dulegauda Bazaar now, said a Dhorfirdi farmer Govind KC. — RSS
Hydel plants benefit
POKHARA: Nearly 2,100 households have been benefited from 12 micro hydro power projects constructed in Kaski, Manag and Mustang by the Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) with the support from the donors and labour donation of the public. The projects were constructed between 1992- 2007 AD. — RSS
