Nepse lists Sanima

KATHMANDU: Sanima Bikas Bittiya Sanstha Ltd (SBBSL) and Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) Ltd entered into an accord to list former’s 3.2 million shares with a face value of Rs 100 per share. Rebat Bahadur Karki, GM of Nepse and Badri Prasad Ojha, executive chairman of SBBSL signed the pact on behalf of their respective organisations on Friday. SBBSL ranks 11th in the developing banks group and 140th company to be listed at the Nepse, states a press release. — HNS

Kuwait’s revenue up

KUWAIT CITY: Kuwait’s revenues in the first eight months of the current fiscal year topped $37 billion, a 17 per cent increase over the same period last year, on the back of high oil prices. Al-Shall Economic Consultants said total revenues at the end of November, the eighth month of the 2006-07, reached $37.2 billion against $31.8 billion posted in the same period the previous year. The figure is up by 26.1 per cent on the $29.5 billion projected for the whole fiscal year which began in April. — AFP

Casinos in Russia

MOSCOW: Russian lawmakers approved on second reading a draft law that will only allow casinos in four special zones from 2009 and toughen rules for gambling halls with slot machines. The four zones are Kaliningrad, a Russian exclave located between Poland and Lithuania, along with the far eastern region of Primorye, the Altai region in Siberia and an as yet undecided area in southwest Russia. — AFP
