Tsum Mega Festival
KATHMANDU: Tsum Kalyan Committee will organise Tsum Mega Festival 2066 from July 14 to 17 in the Tsum region of Gorkha. With the aim of increasing both internal and foreign tourist arrival, the festival will focus on local culture and traditions. The festival also intends to promote and conserve Tsum region’s natural heritage. The main attraction of the festival will be traditional costumes exhibition, cultural shows, local games and race competition. — HNS
Productivity training
KATHMANDU: Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) and Ministry of Industry (MoI) concluded a training on Productivity Facilitator Development Programme (PFDP) here on Tuesday. Some 22 trainees took part in the eight-day long training. FNCCI president Kush Kumar Joshi and MoI secretary Pratap Kumar Pathak gave certificates of participation to the trainees. Joshi said Nepali industries need to focus on productivity. According to World Bank, Nepal stands 122nd on the world productivity ladder in 2009. Pathak called for regular productivity training. — HNS
Paddy seeds given
KAPINVASTU: High-yield paddy seeds have been distributed to farmers in Kapilvastu district who were compelled to buy sub-standard paddy seeds from India. The seeds were distributed with the assistance of Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). Around 800 quintals of high-yield variety paddy seeds were distributed to farmers in 12 VDCs in the district through the local Seeds Project. Around 4,000 poor farmers got 20 kg seeds per head. Along with the paddy seeds, FAO also distributed 4,000 packets of vegetable seeds to the farmers. — RSS
