Gold price drops

KATHMANDU: With continuous fluctuation in oil prices due to tension in the Middle East, gold price in the local market has dropped by Rs 600 per 10 gm this week. According to Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association, the yellow precious metal in the local bullion market was traded at Rs 16,000 per 10 gram on Sunday. The market closed on Friday with a price tag of Rs 15,400. — HNS

BJM workers protest

BIRATNAGAR: Workers of the Biratnagar Jute Mills (BJM) organised a four-hour transport strike at Jogbani entry point on Friday. They have been organising various protest programmes putting forth 11-point demands for opening of the mill. The workers have warned of more serious programmes from July 24. — RSS
