Brand watch: Canon brings its new range

Canon launched a new series of digital cameras and colour printers in the Nepal market.
The new products include a new range of digital cameras, both for amateur and pr-ofessionals, as well as multi-functional colour printers.
Under the power-packed range, Canon launched new models of PowerShot series, IXUS and new EOS series. In the PowerShot series, Canon unveiled G9, which succeeds its popular PowerShot G7 with a new 12.1 megapixel high resolution CCD, while the newly developed PowerShot SX100 IS combines a high-powered 10x zoom with better functionality.
The Canon’s PowerShot A650 IS and A720 IS updates the mid-range PowerShot A-series cameras with increased pixel capture capability.
Canon added two new models in IXUS range, 8.0-megapixel IXUS 860 IS and 12.1-megapixel IXUS 960 IS.
For the professionals, Canon unveiled a 10.1-megapixel professional-grade new EOS 40D DSLR camera. Canon also unveiled its flagship camera; the 35mm full-frame 21.1 megapixel EOS 1Ds Mark III professional DSLR camera. It is an enhanced successor to Canon 1-Ds range of DSLR cameras.
In the printer segment, Canon unveiled Pixma iP 3500 and Pixma iP 4500 colour printers, while the Pixma MP228, MP476, MP 250 and MP 610 are three-in-one colour printers with facilities like printing, copying, and scanning. The Canon MX 308, MX 318 and MX 700 have multiple functions like printing, scanning, copying and facsimile, while the MP 970 is networkable three-in-one colour printer.
Addressing the press, Jordan Ng Kim Sing, country manager for Nepal at Canon Singapore Pvt Ltd, said that Canon would continue to introduce new products and services to meet varied demands in the Nepali market.
