Brand watch: Canon launches new DSLR

Kathmandu, December 22:

Primax International Inc, the sole distributor of the Canon brands of digital imaging sources, launched its powerful and affordable EOS 400D Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera in the Nepali market here today.

Eddie Udagawa, director and general manager of Canon Singapore, on the occasion, expressed his happiness over the improving business and investment climate in Nepal.

“Canon has consistently remained as one of the top three companies to have earned the most number of patents over the last decade,” he said adding that its dedicated team of R&D has made it a synonym for a perfect digital imaging sources for the consumers.

“The launch of latest EOS 400D digital Single Lens Reflex (SLR) will address the growing need in the market for DSLR cameras,” states a press release distributed at the launching ceremony.

EOS 400D is a compact and lightweight, ideal for new DSLR users and those who often go on photography trips, claims the company.

“Canon eyes 30 per cent growth in its current market share in Nepal,” says Deepak Sureka of Primax International Inc claiming that it is the market leader in its category even now.
