The British Council and the Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training signed an agreement yesterday for British Council’s assistance to the council for the next three years to produce skilled manpower in the construction sector.

The agreement was signed by CTEVT’s skill testing division director Chandra Bhakta Nakarmi and British Council’s country director on behalf of their respective organizations.

Speaking on the occasion, British ambassador to Nepal Dr Andrew Hall said the three-year skill testing project would provide significant support to produce skilled technical manpower in Nepal. He said the project would also help youths get new opportunities and jobs. Nakarmi said the British Council will assist CTEVT from 2009 to 2011.
