KATHMANDU, MAY 12
As Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal has decided to operate airports having night slot facility for 18 hours a day, Buddha Air is planning to expand its night flight service to various destinations from May 15.
Issuing the press statement today, Buddha Air has announced it is gearing up to operate night flights after 8:00pm in Janakpur, Nepalgunj, Biratnagar, Bhairahawa, Bhadrapur and Simara.
The night flights will be more convenient and cheaper than the morning and afternoon flights and will hopefully facilitate the passengers who are busy at work during the day time, as per the press statement.
The night flights will cover 13 per cent of scheduled flights approved by the CAAN.
The airline has also requested the provincial and local governments to ensure public transport to facilitate passengers at the destinations operating night flights.
In the press release, Buddha Air has stated that the night flights are expected to create employment at the local levels and also play a role in revenue growth due to influx of passengers.
Budhha Air has further said that it will also be offering attractive discounts on taxis for night flights in Kathmandu in coordination with Tootle.
Meanwhile, the press statement has also stated that the airline is going to connect Bhairahawa Airport as the second hub from all the provinces.
