Training course

KATHMANDU: Sambad Technologies Pvt Ltd will organise a training on Information Security for Business at Bangkok, Thailand, on May 12-14. This is the first training of its kind by Sambad Technologies targeting international market space. Representatives of governments, banks, NGOs and other business establishments from Africa, Asia and the Pacific will participate, said Dibas Neupane, Sambad CEO. The training has been designed by the education team of the company by utilising its own resources and through research. Eight such training sessions have been already conducted so far in Nepal. It is essential to CEOs as well as to other managers and contributes to capacity building for coping with security challenges posed by globalisation and competition. Repeated threats of information thefts and sophisticated attacks on infrastructure have generated demand for conducting this training regionally and internationally.

Viking, LG join hands

RDB new logo

KATHMANDU: Rising Development Bank (RDB) has changed its logo after it changed its name. Bank CEO Bhanu Kandel said the new logo will portray a new energy and power. RDB has collected deposit Rs 440 million and invested Rs 410 million in the first seven months of this fiscal year. Compared with the last fiscal year, the deposit is an increase by 83 per cent and investment an increase by 86 per cent. It is planning to float Rs 60 million shares to the public soon.

MDB shares soon

KATHMANDU: Manakamana Development Bank will issue three million-units ordinary shares worth Rs 300 million from February 25. The issue will close on March 2. Currently, the bank has total paid-up capital Rs 700 million. After the share issuance, the total paid-up capital will be Rs1 billion — the highest paid-up capital among development banks in Nepal.

Bonus shares

KATHMANDU: Imperial Finance Ltd has proposed 20 per cent bonus shares from its profit from the last fiscal year. The company is going to hold its annual general meeting on March 12. The company’s book will be closed from February 23.
