KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 28

The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has banned the operation of 'AS-350 B 3 E' helicopters belonging to two airline companies for violating aviation rules.

CAAN has grounded the helicopters of Shree Airlines and Fishtail Air, citing violations of aviation regulations due to flights conducted during adverse weather conditions in the Lukla region.

Gyanendra Bhul, the Information Officer at CAAN, stated that three helicopters from these two airlines were banned from flying because they had disregarded the rule mandating grounding during adverse weather.

The helicopters conducted flights in conditions where visibility was not even 100 meters, which was in direct violation of the Visual Flight Rules (VFR), Bhul added.
