KATHMANDU, AUGUST 13

The government has approved a comprehensive action plan for reforms in the civil aviation sector.

At a meeting held on August 12, the Council of Ministers also endorsed the action plans for the operation of Gautam Buddha International Airport and Pokhara International Airport, according to Minister for Communications and Information Technology Prithvi Subba Gurung, who announced the decisions on Tuesday during a press conference at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.

The Cabinet meeting appointed Ramesh Acharya from Dhading district as the General Manager of Food Management and Trading Company Limited and Prakash Prasad Pokharel from Ilam district as the General Manager of Nepal Transit and Warehousing Company Limited.

Minister Gurung, who also serves as the government spokesperson, stated that the Cabinet appointed Dr. Rewati Raman Poudel, Dr. Yamuna Ghale, Dr. Reshma Shrestha, and Jagat Bahadur Deuja as members of the Federal Land Utilization Council.

Additionally, the Cabinet approved the participation of Chief Election Commissioner Dinesh Kumar Thapaliya in the 12th Conference on South Asian Election Management, scheduled to take place from August 13-16 in Bhutan.

Furthermore, the Cabinet approved a loan assistance package of USD 110 million from the Asian Development Bank for irrigation projects and established a panel, led by a Joint Secretary from the Finance Ministry, to negotiate the receipt of USD 15 million in grants.

The Cabinet also accepted the resignations of two first-class officers from the Civil Service, Indu Bikram Joshi and Komal Prasad Dhamal.
