Capt Thapa elected AOAN president

KATHMANDU: Captain Rameshwar Thapa, chairman of Simrik Air, was elected as the new president of Airline Operators Association of Nepal (AOAN) on Friday. Thapa, who is also president of Helicopter’s Society of Nepal, has been elected AOAN’s president for the second time.

The 19th annual general meeting of the association also elected Anoj Rimal of Yeti Airlines as first vice-president and Gopal Bhattarai from Saurya Airlines as second vice-president. Manoj Karki of Summit Air has been elected general secretary while Raju Neupane of Manang Air as secretary. Rupesh Joshi from Buddha Air has been elected as treasurer. Captain Deepak JB Rana of Summit Helicopters; Yograj Kandel Sharma from Heli Everest; Bal Krishna Pandit from Air Dynasty Heli Services; Barun Gyawali from Kailash Helicopter; Nima Nuru Sherpa from Altitude Air; Prajol Thapa from Simrik Airlines and Subhash Amatya from Prabhu Helicopter have been elected as executive committee members of AOAN.
