Colgate Palmolive cuts production

Multinational company Colgate Palmolive ( Nepal) Pvt Ltd has reduced its production by about

25 per cent due to increase in strikes and bandhs in Tarai region in recent days.

The factory has shifted its toothpaste production plants to Uttranchal of India and has started production form there.

The export trade of the factory has declined by 29.18 per cent in the first three months of in the fiscal year 064-65. According to the factory, it has exported goods worth Rs 10.6 million in the first three months.

Export trade of the district has declined following reduction in its production. In the first three months of current fiscal year, the total trade export has declined by 0.43 per cent. “Colgate Palmolive exports its products to India including third cou-ntry,” said Deepak Pra-sad Shrestha, chairman of Makwanpur Chamber of Commerce.
