Concern about human trafficking

KATHMANDU: Ministry of Labour and Transport Management (MoLTM) has shown grave concern in growing human trafficking in Nepal.

Issuing a press statement the ministry has requested public to provide information about trafficking activities and help them bring to the book.

Nepali law has banned

all form of human trafficking, including fraud in

foreign employment," the ministry said adding that the people must abide by the laws.

According to Foreign Employment Act and Regulation, Nepali workers must leave Nepal from international airport and using

other airport except the source country is considered a crime. Illegal migration from human traffickers has made Nepali workers more vulnerable in the Gulf countries. Forth global conference of Non-Resident Nepalis had also showed serious concern over frauds in foreign employment including human trafficking from the organised groups.

Human traffickers are using illegal route of India soil to send Nepali workers — mainly women migrant workers — to Gulf countries.

"It is against the law of the land and the government will take stern action against those involved in the activities," warned the ministry that gives permission for the migrant workers. Recently there has been a lots of complaints of cheating due to such illegal movements.
