Kathmandu, February 12:

Cosmic Air Pvt Ltd — one of the leading private sector airlines in Nepal — carried out a successful test flight to Pokhara with Fokker-100 aircraft for the first time.

The airlines’ 105-seater aircraft became the first jet plane to land at the Pokhara airport. Cosmic Air’s Fokker-100 landed at Pokhara airport at 3.25pm yesterday, with about three dozen passengers.

“We carried out test flights successfully,” said Upendra Karki, marketing director of Cosmic Air, adding that the airline is waiting a green signal from the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) to operate in this route using Fokker-100.

“We will begin the scheduled flights to Pokhara once we get approval from the CAAN,” he informed, adding that the Cosmic Air hopes to provide its services to the domestic passengers as well as tourists flying to Pokhara.
