Cottage Industries Fair 2065 ends on high note
Kathmandu, December 15:
Small Industry Festival 2065 and National Industrial Exhibition concluded today on a grand note. Ang Dendi Sherpa, president of the Federation of Nepalese Cottage and Small Industry (FNSCI) said, “We reaped benefits beyond our expectations. We had expected two lakh people to visit the fair but it was more than that. We had sales of more than Rs 2 million.”
According to Sherpa, the aim of the festival was to create interaction between buyers and sellers. Participants said they were quite satisfied with the interaction as they have received orders also.
“The best part of the festival is informing exporters and general customers about the quality products manufactured in the niche market and making a market survey,” added Sherpa.
During the closing ceremony, stalls from Dolakha and Okhaldunga were awarded for their products while the best-product sale award was given to straw products from Banepa. “During the festival, straw products, organic tea and coffee and metal products were the centre of attraction for visitors,” said Sherpa.
Sherpa said that FNSCI has plans of organizing a Surkhet Regional Fair, “Within two months,
we will organize the Surkhet Regional Fair which will have participation of five to seven districts and the event will focus on products manufactured regionally.”
FNCSI organizes the Small Industry Festival and National Industrial Exhibition every year during the month of Mangsir.
