Chautara, June 17:

Crop production in Sindhupalchowk district saw a sharp increase this year in comparison to last year.

According to the District Agriculture Development Office wheat production went up by 110 per cent. The office attributed the rise to use of improved varieties and their precautions against infestation of sindure disease this year.

This year, 16,200 metric tonnes (MT) of wheat is produced from 8,100 hectares of land while last year it was only 7,680 MT from the same area.
