KATHMANDU, OCTOBER 26

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE), the sole secondary market of the country, saw an improvement for the third consecutive trading day with Nepse index increasing by 78.82 points on Tuesday.

The benchmark index which has been improving all week, opened at 2678.86 points and closed at 2751.07 points, registering a gain of 2.95 percent.

Similarly, the sensitive index also increased to 516.08 points, denoting an 11.50 point or a 2.28 per cent increase. The float index also rose to 192.27 points registering a 5.46 point or a 2.92 per cent rise.

The market today again saw all the sub-indices in the green with life insurance index leading the pack of gainers with 499.98 point increase followed by Nonlife insurance index with 317.53 gain.

The daily turnover also increased on Tuesday with a total of 11,486,123 units of shares of altogether 227 companies were traded at Rs 6.318 billion compared to just Rs 2.773 billion on Sunday and Rs 2.773 billion on Monday.

After the share transaction, market capitalisation stood at Rs 3.851 trillion.

Today, 179 scrips advanced while six scrips declined and two remained unchanged.
