KATHMANDU, MARCH 31

The Ministry of Finance (MoF) has brought a toll-free number 1138 into operation to gather suggestions during the preparation of the budget for fiscal year 2022-23.

The MoF, which is engaged in the preparation of the budget for the upcoming fiscal year, has introduced the toll-free number in a bid to bring an inclusive budget by collecting suggestions from the grassroots level.

The public can give their suggestions by calling during office hours, as per the ministry. Anyone can also submit their suggestions by clicking on 'Budget Suggestion' link on the website of the ministry and even send it via e-mail at budgetsuggestion@mof.gov.np.

The ministry has requested the public to submit their ideas by mid-April to ensure the budget is effective and implementable.

The MoF has already collected suggestions for policies and programmes related to the budget from stakeholders in agriculture, education, banks, financial institutions and insurance sectors, private sector and economists.
