Discussion on budget plans

Pokhara, May 29 :

Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Pokhara Chambers of Commerce and Industry (PCCI), organised a talk programme here with an objective to discuss with the private sector and collect suggestions on taxation, custom, VAT, and excise for the next budget.

Members from FNCCI, PCCI, finance ministry, the Internal Revenue Department (IRD), District and Town Chamber of Commerce (DTCC) and entrepreneurs took active part in the programme. Deep Basnet, convenor of the Revenue Consultative Committee, on the occasion, said development would be prioritised in the next budget. Pramod Karki and Ram Kumar Shrestha, joint secretaries at the ministry called on the industrialists and businessmen to aid development works by helping increase revenue as there has been reductions in revenue recovery at present.

Deepak Shrestha, PCCI’s first vice-chairman while presenting the working paper demanded budget for the construction of the international airport in Pokhara, conservation of Fewa lake, and permanent exhibition ground.
