Eastern region suffers lack of petroleum
Biratnagar, August 15 :
There has been shortage of petroleum products in eastern region for the past few days after the eastern regional office of Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) at Biratnagar reduced import of petro products in eastern region by 20 per cent.
Acting chief of Biratnagar office of NOC, Bhairav Khadka said that the import of petroleum products was reduced in order to decrease NOC losses.
NOC imports petroleum products from Barauni in India, for the eastern region.
Earlier, eastern regional office of NOC used to import 200,000 litres of diesel and kerosene and 70,000 litres of petrol per day, chief Khadka said. “NOC reduced import of all petroleum products from August 2,” he added.
