Kathmandu, June 9:

Everest Insurance Company Ltd (EICL), a subsidiary of Khetan Group, yesterday felicitated the leader of ‘Loktantrik Everest Expedition Team’ Ang Nima Sherpa.

On May 21, Sherpa had climbed the world’s tallest peak Mt Everest and hoisted EICL flag on the summit.

Popular youth leader Gagan Thapa felicitated Sherpa by offering shawl and memento. He said, “though the political situation looks precarious at the moment and the country’s future gloomy, if we look back into the spontaneous peoples’ participation during the Janaandolan-II, we can observe that if the youths unite once again, we can easily turn our dreams into realities”. Hailing the effort of EICL to felicitate Sherpa, Thapa said, the endeavour of a private company to encourage people to turn their dreams into realities have given them added hopes. EICL was among the sponsors of the expedition team.

Rajendra Kumar Khetan, acting chairman of EICL, said that the Nepali corporate sector would continue to invite youths who have made their career an outstanding one through their achievements and accomplishments.

He said that the company would continue to engage to help uplift the youths in the future. Sherpa thanked the organisers for their magnanimity in felicitating him.
