KATHMANDU: Engineers mobilised by Ministry of Urban Development (MoUD) in earthquake affected areas will now have to work with local units.

The National Reconstruction Authority (NRA) is framing a modality to provide authority to local units to mobilise engineers deployed by MoUD, as per NRA CEO Govinda Raj Pokharel.

“Salaries and allowances of the engineers will also be sent to local units.” Earlier, engineers deployed to local units were mobilised by District Development Committee.

However, now that the local bodies have started their functions, NRA is preparing to mobilise the engineers through the local bodies in quake-hit districts.
