KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has extended the time for customers to pay back the interest and loan taken from banks and financial institutions (BFIs) by 15 days.

The central bank extended the time to pay back loans and interest within this fiscal end by next 15 days citing that customers might find it difficult to pay back the amount on time owing to the havoc caused by the recent floods, landslides and rainfall across the country.

Meanwhile, the Confederation of Nepalese Industries has welcomed the decision of NRB to extend the payback period of loans and interests through a press statement issued on Monday.
