KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 6

Member industries of the Nepal Feed Industries Association (NFIA) have contributed Rs 31.78 million to the Prime Minister's Disaster Relief Fund for relief and rehabilitation of communities affected by the recent floods and landslides in the Bhotekoshi-Trishuli region.

The association said its members had contributed a total of Rs 31,784,701 to the fund, with additional donations still being collected.

According to NFIA, individual member companies contributed based on their capacity, with some donating Rs 7.5 million, Rs 5 million and Rs 2.5 million, while several others contributed smaller amounts.

NFIA President Umesh Chandra Sapkota said the contributions reflected the private sector's responsibility to support humanitarian and disaster-response efforts.

The association is also organising the fifth edition of the Right to Protein Run on September 19 at Basundhara Park in Pokhara. The event aims to promote awareness of protein consumption, balanced nutrition and active lifestyles.

NFIA has been organising the nationwide campaign to promote healthier diets and physical activity.
