Finance Minister and private sector discuss unannounced blockade
KATHMANDU: Minister for Finance Bishnu Prasad Poudel held a discussion with private sector on the unannounced blockade and its consequences on Sunday.
In the discussion, the office-bearers of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), Confederation of Nepali Industries (CNI) and Nepal Chamber of Commerce (NCC) stressed that the Finance Ministry should take a lead in removing the unofficial blockade and enable an environment to resume industrial operation in the country.
The business and industry sector has seen a big loss due to strikes and shutdowns, they said, calling for government's seriousness in healing the private sector which witnessed a mammoth devastation.
Minister Poudel pledged to take initiative to address the problems facing the private sector in the country.
FNCCI Chairperson Pashupati Murarka and Vice-chairperson Bhawani Rana among others were present in the meeting.
