FNCCI condemns killings
Kathmandu, July 6:
The Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industries (FNCCI) has condemned the brutal killing of trader Atma Ram Agrawal and dacoity in his house in Mechinagar-1 of Dhulabari in Jhapa, and the abduction and murder of hardware entrepreneur Bir Bahadur Shrestha in Gaushala, Mahottari.
In a press statement today, FNCCI also expressed its solidarity with the relay hunger-strike organised by Mechinagar Chambers of Commerce and Industries (MCCI) demanding punishment to the culprits, compensation to the victims, treatment of the injured and setting up of an APF base camp in Dhulabari.
FNCCI also wished for speedy recovery of Ashakumari Agrawal, the wife of deceased Agrawal, and neighbour Ramesh Shrestha. It also asked all concerned to ensure the release of kidnapped trader Shyam Gupta of Gaushala.
Saying that such untoward incidents were happening across the country due to the unstable political situation, FNCCI has asked all stakeholders to sort out these issues through consensus and help the nation move towards a definite direction.
