FNCCI’s disciplinary committee formed

Kathmandu, July 27

The disciplinary committee of Federation of Nepalese Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FNCCI) finally received full shape today — almost a year after the executive committee had decided to form the committee under the chairmanship of former president Ravi Bhakta Shrestha and comprising six members.

The committee comprises former presidents of FNCCI Padma Jyoti, Kush Kumar Joshi, former vice president Rohini Thapaliya, former secretary general Jagadish Prasad Agrawal, woman entrepreneur Ambica Shrestha and legal expert Gandhi Pandit as members.

The committee will serve until the tenure of the current executive committee expires in April 2017.

FNCCI executive committee meeting in September last year had announced of forming a disciplinary committee under the chairmanship of Shrestha. However, the committee had been unable to get a full shape since long due to disputes among executives in FNCCI.

Clause 38 (1) of FNCCI’s statute includes a provision of disciplinary committee to watch the activities of the FNCCI members regarding the violation of statute and code of conducts, settle disputes and submit reports regarding the same to the FNCCI executive committee.
