KATHMANDU: Furnex 2023, a major fair of furniture and furnishing products, has started. Industry, Commerce and Supply Minister Ramesh Rijal inaugurated the ninth edition of the expo amidst a programme at the Bhrikutimandap Exhibition Hall, as per a media release.
Inaugurating the expo, Industry Minister Rijal said that the country is becoming self-reliant in furniture production, but it is not sufficient.
Stating that import is not a positive matter for the country, he assured that the government is ready to take the initiative to amend the existing legal system to make the country self-sufficient in furniture production.
Organised by Nepal Furniture and Furnishing Association (NFFA) under the theme 'Are we self-sufficient?', the expo will run for five days.
