Ginger exports to India start

Ginger worth a total of Rs 82.9 million has been exported to India through the Nepalgunj transit point during the first six months of the current fiscal year.

Altogether 8,291 metric tonnes of ginger was exported through the transit by the end of December. Likewise, the customs office has collected a revenue of Rs 366.35 million during the same period, which is said to be 13 per cent more than the target. Petroleum products, cement, motorcycles, iron, mustard, fabrics, hardware material, cars and motor parts are imported from India through the transit.
