Lalitpur, October 12

The exhibition to promote the chrysanthemum flower (Godavari) in the country — Godavari Expo — has begun at Jawlakhel from today.

The four-day event is being organised by Floriculture Association of Nepal (FAN).

Speaking at the inaugural ceremony of the flower exhibition, FAN President Kumar Kasaju Shrestha said that the exhibition aims at promoting domestic flowers, especially chrysanthemum, just ahead of Tihar festival when flower demand skyrockets.

“Exhibitions like these also bring together all stakeholders of floriculture industry and offers a platform to discuss prevailing prospects and difficulties in the sector,” said Shrestha.

More than 400 types of flowers are being showcased in the exhibition.

The organisers are expecting around 40,000 spectators to visit the four-day event.
