The price of precious metals increased in the trading week between December 4 and 9.

In the domestic market, gold price increased by Rs 800 per tola, while silver price increased by Rs 20 a tola during the review week.

According to the rate list of Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers' Association (FeNeGoSiDA), gold price was fixed at Rs 99,500 per tola when the market opened for trading on Sunday and increased by Rs 400 a tola on Monday. The price of the precious yellow metal decreased by Rs 600 per tola on Tuesday and remained unchanged on Wednesday. Its price increased by Rs 400 a tola on Thursday before increasing by Rs 600 per tola on Friday to close at Rs 100,300 a tola for the week.

Meanwhile, silver was traded at Rs 1,370 per tola on Sunday and its price rose to Rs 1,385 a tola on Monday. The price of grey metal fell by Rs 30 per tola on Tuesday and remained unchanged on Wednesday before increasing by Rs 10 a tola on Thursday.

The price of grey metal increased by Rs 30 per tola on Friday to end the week at Rs 1,390 a tola.

According to Reuters, gold prices rose on Friday despite an uptick in the dollar and US bond yields as some investors still expect the Federal Reserve to slow the pace of rate hikes from early next year.

However, data showed US producer prices rose more than expected in November, adding to market uncertainty over the Fed policy outlook.
