Silver also surges, nearing Rs 5,000 mark

Gold price continued its upward momentum in the domestic market on Tuesday, inching closer to the all-time high of Rs 270,600 per tola recorded on December 28.

According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers' Association, the price of fine gold rose by Rs 3,100 per tola on Tuesday to Rs 268,100 per tola. The yellow metal had already gained Rs 4,600 per tola on Monday.

Silver price also climbed sharply, nearing its historic peak of Rs 4,895 per tola recorded on December 29. Silver rose by Rs 195 per tola on Tuesday to trade at Rs 4,880 per tola, moving closer to the Rs 5,000 threshold.

On Monday, silver was traded at Rs 4,685 per tola after increasing by Rs 185 per tola from Sunday's rate, the federation said.
