Silver also surges, trading close to Rs 5,000 per tola in domestic market
KATHMANDU, JANUARY 11
Gold price in the domestic market surged by Rs 2,800 per tola on Sunday, climbing to Rs 270,600 per tola and matching the all-time high recorded on December 28.
With the latest increase, gold is on the verge of setting a new record price in the Nepali market.
According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers' Association, fine gold was traded at Rs 267,800 per tola on Friday.
Silver price also registered a sharp rise, increasing by Rs 210 per tola to reach Rs 4,990 per tola, nearing the Rs 5,000 per tola mark. Silver had been traded at Rs 4,780 per tola on Friday, the federation said.
