Gold price takes sudden nosedive
Kathmandu, February 25:
The domestic market witnessed a sudden fall in the price of gold today.
The precious yellow metal was traded for Rs 25,120 per 10 gram — a decrease of Rs 430. It had opened at the highest record price of Rs 25,550 per 10 gram on Sunday and continued to remain on top for three consecutive days till yesterday.
According to Tej Ratna Shakya, president of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association (NEGOSIDA), slight progress in the international share market and improvement in the value of the dollar pulled down the price of gold in the world market. “The price drop in the international market pulled down the price here,” he added. Gold today was traded at $964.50 per troy ounce against yesterday’s $987.43 per ounce.
