Gold prices witnessed a sharp fall in the domestic market today, dropping by Rs 6,900 per tola on the last trading day of Kartik, according to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers' Association.
Fine gold is being traded at Rs 242,800 per tola, down from Rs 249,700 per tola recorded last Friday. The yellow metal had climbed to Rs 250,200 per tola on Kartik 27 but failed to sustain the rise, slipping on Kartik 28 and continuing its downward trajectory for the second consecutive day today.
Silver has also followed a similar trend. After surging to Rs 3,345 per tola on Kartik 27, its price fell to Rs 3,285 on Kartik 28. The decline continued today, with silver dropping by a significant Rs 150 per tola to trade at Rs 3,135 per tola, the federation said.
