Gold price up, silver stable

Gold price increased by Rs 300 per tola, while silver price remained the same week-on-week, from December 20 to 25.

The market opened on Sunday with gold price fixed at Rs 48,000 per tola. The price of the precious yellow metal edged up by Rs 100 a tola on Monday to be traded at Rs 48,100 per tola. Gold price went up by Rs 400 per tola on Tuesday and was fixed at Rs 48,500 a tola.

Bullion price, however, tumbled by Rs 200 a tola on Wednesday to be fixed at Rs 48,300 per tola. On Thursday, gold price again dropped by Rs 100 per tola to be traded at Rs 48,200 a tola. The price of the yellow metal edged up by Rs 100 a tola on Friday to close at Rs 48,300 per tola for the week.

Meanwhile, the price of silver remained stable week-on-week.

The market opened on Sunday with silver price fixed at Rs 675 per tola and remained unchanged on Monday. The price of the white metal went up by five rupees to be fixed at Rs 680 per tola on Tuesday.

On Wednesday, however, silver reversed the previous day’s gain by shedding five rupees to be traded at Rs 675 per tola. Its price remained unchanged till Friday — the last trading day of the week.
