KATHMANDU, JANUARY 19

The gold price surged by Rs 500 per tola on Friday, reclaiming some lost ground after days of depreciation in the domestic market.

According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers' Association (FeNeGoSiDA), fine gold is currently commanding Rs 118,000 per tola, marking a rise from Thursday's rate of Rs 117,500 per tola.

Similarly, standard gold is now being traded at Rs 117,450 per tola, indicating an uptick from the previous day's value of Rs 116,950 per tola.

Concurrently, the silver price witnessed a modest increase of Rs 5 per tola, reaching Rs 1,395 per tola.

This positive shift comes after a persistent decline in the price of gold since the start of the month of Magh, witnessing a cumulative drop of Rs 2000 per tola until yesterday. The gold price had been recorded at Rs 119,500 per tola on Magh 1.
