The price of yellow metal and silver decreased in the trading week between May 21 and 26.

In the domestic market, gold price decreased by Rs 1,700 per tola, while silver prices fell by Rs 40 a tola during the review week.

According to the rate list of Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers' Association (FeNeGoSi- DA), gold price was fixed at Rs 110,000 per tola when the market opened for trading on Sunday.

Gold prices remained unchanged on Monday before falling by Rs 800 a tola on Tuesday. The price of yellow metal increased by Rs 600 a tola on Wednesday before decreasing again by Rs 1,000 per tola on Thursday. On Friday, gold prices fell further by Rs 500 per tola to close the trading week at Rs 108,300 a tola.

Meanwhile, silver was traded at Rs 1,385 per tola on Sunday and its price fell by Rs 10 a tola on Monday. The price of the grey metal fell by Rs 10 per tola on Tuesday before decreasing by five rupees a tola on Wednesday.

Its price fell by Rs 10 per tola on Thursday before falling again by five rupees a tola on Friday to settle at Rs 1,345 per tola for the week.

As per international news agencies, gold gave up some gains on Friday and was on course for a third straight weekly loss on the likelihood of a last-minute debt ceiling deal and as a hotter-than-expected US inflation gauge raised bets for rates to stay higher for longer.
