KATHMANDU, JANUARY 15

Gold price in the domestic market fell by Rs 1,500 per tola on Thursday, retreating from the record high of Rs 278,000 per tola recorded a day earlier.

According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers' Association, fine gold is being traded at Rs 276,500 per tola today.

Silver price also witnessed a decline, dropping by Rs 170 per tola on Thursday. The federation said silver is currently being traded at Rs 5,485 per tola, down from Rs 5,655 per tola on Wednesday.

The correction comes after several days of sharp gains that had pushed both precious metals to historic highs in the Nepali market.
