Gold, silver prices slump

Gold and silver prices declined as their price went down by Rs 100 and Rs 10 per tola each over the trading week from June 18 to 23.
The market opened on Sunday with gold price fixed at Rs 54,500 per tola. On Monday, the price of the precious yellow metal dropped by Rs 100 per tola to settle at Rs 54,400 a tola. Gold price again dropped by Rs 300 a tola on Tuesday and was traded at Rs 54,100 per tola.
Price of gold, however increased by Rs 100 per tola on Wednesday to be traded at Rs 54,200 a tola. Gold price went up by Rs 200 a tola to be fixed at Rs 54,400 per tola on Thursday and remained unchanged on Friday — the last trading day of the week.
Likewise, the price of silver also went down by Rs 10 per tola during the six trading days of the week. Silver was traded at Rs 750 a tola on Sunday — the first trading day of the week.
Price of the white metal dropped by Rs five a tola to Rs 745 on Monday. Silver price again slumped by Rs five per tola on Tuesday to be traded at Rs 740 a tola and remained the same till Friday.
