KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 23

Gold price in the domestic market soared to a record Rs 221,700 per tola on Sunday, marking a dramatic single-day rise of Rs 3,900.

The sharp increase made the fine gold even more expensive for Nepali buyers.

On Monday, prices increased by Rs 700 per tola from Sunday at Rs 217,800 per tola, according to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers' Associations.

Silver continued its own upward trend, gaining Rs 30 per tola on Monday.

After trading at Rs 2,650 per tola the previous day, silver climbed to Rs 2,680 per tola, the federation reported.
