Kathmandu, August 28 :

Revenue collection during the first month of the current fiscal year 2006-07 has gone up by 11.3 per cent, compared to the same month last year. However, this growth rate doesn’t match with a projection of over 14 per cent by the budget 2006-07.

During the period of mid-July to mid-August, Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) released over Rs 4.88 billion for the government expenditure, which is up by 7.1 per cent against last year’s disbursement. Of the total government expenditure, Rs 3.94 billion was spent under current expenditure account, while the total capital expenditure stands at about Rs 1.4 billion.

Likewise, the government has repaid principal loans worth Rs 923.8 million during the period.
