KATHMANDU: Hotel Association Nepal (HAN) and other sectors of business related to the tourism industry on Sunday held a discussion on the various problems of tourism entrepreneurs due to frequent strikes, labour problems, trade unions, energy crisis and the global financial crisis. One tourist creats nine direct and indirect employment opportunities, according to the World Tourism Organisation. “An industry that contributes 17.11 per cent to the GDP ought to be taken seriously,” said HAN.
