KATHMANDU: Himalayan Bank Ltd (HBL), under its corporate social responsibility (CSR), has extended its helping hand to Drugs Free Society Nepal (Treatment Centre).

The bank provided financial assistance of Rs 500,000 to the organisation for construction of multi-purpose hall, as per a media release. In today's context, a large number of youths are found to be attracted/involved in alcoholism, various drugs and crimes.

In order to decrease such serious issues from the society, the organisation has been helping people belonging to different age group suffering from alcoholism and involved in different drugs abuse. Currently, the centre has been taking care of around 100 people with such issues at the minimum cost. HBL CEO Ashoke SJB Rana, in presence of other executives of the bank, handed over the cheque to Sonam Sherpa amidst a programme.
