KATHMANDU, DECEMBER 28

With just 67 days remaining until the general election for the House of Representatives (HoR), nearly 18.9 million voters are eligible to cast their ballots in the polls scheduled for March 5, 2026, according to the Election Commission (EC).

The EC's final voter list shows a total of 18,903,689 registered voters, comprising 9,663,358 men, 9,240,131 women and 200 voters listed under other gender categories. The commission has made the final roll public by uploading it to its official website.

According to the EC, the final voter list was published on Saturday in line with Section 20 of the Voter List Act, 2073, marking a key procedural milestone ahead of the polls.

Compared to the last House of Representatives and Provincial Assembly elections held in 2079 BS, when the total number of voters stood at around 17.9 million, the electorate has grown by approximately 915,000 voters in 2082 BS.

The commission has determined a total of 10,967 polling stations nationwide, housing 23,112 polling booths for voters included in the final list. This represents an increase of 75 polling stations compared to the 2079 BS elections.
