Himalayan Travel Mart from June 1

The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) Nepal Chapter is set to host the Himalayan Travel Mart (HTM) 2018, a mega tourism event, here from June 1.

Organising a press conference in the Capital today, PATA Nepal informed that preparations have been completed to host the three-day event that aims to re-define adventure tourism in Nepal.

“HTM 2018 is Nepal's international travel trade show and a business-to-business event for the Himalayan tourism industry, which draws global buyers, Himalayan sellers, travel bloggers, national and International media, travel industry professionals and delegates,” said Sunil Sakya, chairman of PATA Nepal Chapter.

The event is expected to be a unique platform, facilitating networking, sharing knowledge, insights and business opportunities among the participants with focus on different aspects of Himalayan Tourism.

PATA Nepal Chapter had hosted the first HTM in 2017.

The event this year will have 225 delegates from 53 countries, more than 350 local participants, 107 international travel bloggers/ influencers and media delegates, more than 15 high value speakers, 74 international buyers, over 50 sellers from Nepal and international markets and more than 1,500 business appointments, as per PATA Nepal Chapter.

Among different sideline events, the HTM 2018 will feature HTM conference - a summit between buyers, sellers, media and tourism industry stakeholders with international experts - to discuss and share contemporary issues, challenges and opportunities in Himalayan tourism.

Similarly, the event will also host an International Travel Bloggers and Media Conference (ITBMC) that intends to promote Nepal as a most promising tourism destination, bringing together the professional international travel bloggers, international media, travel photographers and a line-up of national and International thought leaders from across the world to observe, share and promote the beauty of Nepal.
