Kathmandu, May 15:

The second ‘Hyundai Exchange Mela’ organised by Avco International Pvt Ltd, the sole distributor of Hyundai motors in Nepal, kicked off today at Birendra International Convention Centre, Kathmandu. The two-day long event is the first of its kind in Nepal that will facilitate exchanging any old vehicle with Hyundai motors, said Dhiren Tamang, director of Avco

International. The event is targeting car owners ranging from small car segment to premium car segment. 2,000 to 3,000 visitors are expected to visit the fair each day. With a theme of ‘weekend gateway’, the event is a promotional drive by Hyundai motors, which has recently celebrated the sale of 2,000 motors in Nepal, added Tamang.

The models available in the Hyundai range are Santro Xing, Accent, Getz, Matrix, Santa Fe and Terracan. “The idea behind the event is to bring all the steps at one place that a customer needs to take to sell an old car and buy a new one,” he said. “We are expecting to exchange about 40 to 50 cars this year during the event,” Tamang informed, adding that a special focus has been laid on Matrix- CRDi (diesel) and Getz models. According to him, the customer can bring any old car and have it evaluated and valued on the spot and can sell it to re-condition houses, and drive away with a brand new Hyundai vehicle. The customer can also avail detailed information and banking process on vehicular loan at the same place from financial institutions like Himalayan Bank Ltd and Nabil Bank Ltd, while insurance information can be received from Prudential Insurance and Alliance Insurance. Information and sale of accessories, spare parts and lubricants on the spot are other plus points of the event.
