KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 10

Hyundai Santro, the model that reshaped Nepal's small-car market, has completed 25 years since its introduction in the country.

Launched in 1999, the Santro was Hyundai India's first model, with Nepal becoming its first export market, a milestone for both Hyundai and Nepal's automobile sector, according to the company. At a time when Japanese brands dominated the segment, Santro helped build confidence in Indian-made cars through its practicality, reliability, and suitability for Nepali roads, it stated.

Over the years, Santro became a trusted household name and laid the foundation for Hyundai's long-standing presence in Nepal.

To mark the anniversary, Hyundai India, in coordination with Hyundai Nepal, has invited owners of 2000 model-year Santro vehicles to get in touch with the company, with selected customers to be included in a special commemorative initiative.
